WHAT DOES ACUPUNCTURE TREAT?
People often ask this question, and it is tempting to roll off a list of conditions that Acupuncture has been shown to treat. Essentially though, the answer to this question is more complex, and perhaps more simple at the same time!
Acupuncture is a gentle, inclusive and kind form of medicine. It is a method for helping to tune the functioning of your system. When forming a diagnosis and treatment plan, we take into account a wide variety of signs and symptoms. The condition that you come with will be included as a part of this picture. So we say that your main problem, or complaint, is part of the expression of how your body, energy and mind is functioning at that time.
We don’t try to eliminate, attack, conquer or get rid of your problem, as if it is somehow separate from you. Rather we seek to understand how your particular current condition has come about and what it is indicating in the functioning of your system, and then we can understand what to offer to help with this situation.
There is, however, a report from 2003 by the World Health Organisation that lists conditions.
