RICHARD DOGGETT
I began my Acupuncture training at The London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2003. LCTA is recognised as one of the top three colleges of Oriental Medicine in the UK. Graduating in 2006 with BSc Honours and Licentiate in Acupuncture and a years worth of experience in a teaching clinic, I started practices in London and Sussex.
In 2007 I spent a month in a teaching hospital in Chengdu in China studying under the renowned Professor Hu. This gave me further insights into the uses of Acupuncture.
On my return I decided to focus on practicing in the South, I now run practices in Chichester and Emsworth.
I chose Acupuncture as it seemed to provide a model of medicine that includes all levels of experience. This means that it takes in to account, and has the the capacity to interpret, the wide variety of signs and symptoms that we can experience. It means that we can begin to unravel how the main problem that a person comes with has occurred, and what we might be able to do about it.
So really, my interest came from a wish to work with people, to try and help resolve some of the problems that we can experience. As I've learnt more about the theory of Acupuncture, and observed the effects treatment can have, I have found it to be a fascinating and effective form of medicine. Furthermore it offers the possibility of treatment without side effects, that works in a collaborative way.
